The University of Delhi is the premier university of the country and is known for its high standards in teaching and research and attracts eminent scholars to its faculty, and students from around the world. It was established in 1922 as a unitary, teaching and residential university. The President of India is the Visitor, the Vice-president is the Chancellor and the Chief Justice of Supreme Court is the Pro-chancellor of the university. Ever since its excellence in teaching and research has made the University of Delhi a role-model and path-setter for other universities in the country. Its rich academic tradition has always attracted the most talented students who later on went on to make important contributions to their society.

The DU had a modest beginning with just three colleges, two faculties (Arts and Science) and about 750 students. The University has now grown into one of the largest universities in India. At present, there are 16 faculties, 86 academic departments, 77 colleges and 5 other recognised institutions spread all over the city. The University today has as many as 15 big libraries apart from libraries in colleges. South Campus was established in 1973 to facilitate access for the residents of South Delhi. The Campus is now spread across 69 acres of green, hilly terrain and its buildings blend attractively with the natural surroundings.

Courses Offered By Delhi University

  1. For UG Delhi University offers BA, for arts and commerce students and BSc. for science students. DU cut off list 2017 should be the basis of admission to courses where entrance examination is not held.
  2. For PG Delhi University offers MSc., MA,, LLB, LLM, B.Ed., M.Ed.,, MLISc, MPE in various fields, M.Phil., PhD, Career-Oriented certificates and diploma courses.

Admission to BMS/BA Hon. (business economics)/BBS (FIA); B.Tech (information technology and mathematical innovations), BA Hons. MMC is done on the basis of entrance examination.

DU Admissions based on merit generally starts from June every year.

After the declaration of the Delhi University Admission Cut-off  List, the candidate will need to report to the college of his/her choice as per the Delhi University Schedule. At this stage, the candidate will require filling the college admission form and the University enrollment form. The candidate would then get his/her documents verified, submit the same to the college and pay the admission fees.

For those whose results are declared late candidates may be considered in whichever cut off list their results are declared subject to the availability of seats, provided the candidate had completed pre-registration process.

For courses where admissions are done on the basis of DU Entrance Exam, the different procedure shall apply.

Undergraduate courses are offered by the university through its affiliated colleges in four major streams of studies namely- arts/ humanities/music and fine arts; commerce; mathematical sciences and sciences under different faculties.

There is no minimum age bar for admission to undergraduate and post-graduate courses in Delhi University Admissions except in a few specified courses.

The university had announced DU cut-off 2016 for the first, second, third, fourth and fifth round of admissions on June 29, July 4, July 10, July 14 and July 19, 2016, respectively. The DU cut off 2016were announced in both online as well as offline modes.

DU Cut-off is regarded as minimum marks required for admissions to the undergraduate programme in colleges of the University. Delhi University was to announce as many as five cutoff lists for admissions into various undergraduate (UG) programme in different colleges for the year 2016. After the university had announced these cutoff lists, each college notified vacant seats and afterwards declared as many as three cutoff-cum-merit lists for the vacant seats in the different programme.

DU Cut-Off List for admissions to various undergraduate courses of the University of Delhi is displayed by different colleges of the University as per the schedule.

For details with regards to variation in DU cut-off percentage, the candidates are advised to contact the respective colleges. As per schedule already notified, the eligible candidates who meet the requirements notified in the First Admission cut off list are further advised to complete their formalities in the concern colleges within the stipulated time as notified on the university website.

Delhi University 2017 Cut-Off List shall give you an overview of the cutoff marks in this academic year. The candidates who have applied for the courses in the pre-form can view the cut off and may visit the respective colleges for the process.

During the season of 2017, Delhi University Colleges shall release separate cutoff list and you will be shortlisted based on your marks obtained in 12th standard meeting the required DU cut off 2017 admissions. In case students do not meet the DU Cut-Off of the colleges of their choice of courses, they may wait for the next cut off list.

The Delhi University Admissions will be made through counselling where candidates need to present their documents including Class 10th and 12th mark sheets, Class 12th Original Certificate, Character Certificate, Photographs before the college committee. The counselling procedure may be carried in 3 or more phases as per the counselling requirements.
